180 Rule


Here's a video about the 180 point rule. To keep the viewer from being confused as to where the people or objects in the scene are, it is generally the done thing for the people and objects in the shot to be on the same side at all times, unless there is camera movement to show the viewer that the people/objects are in the same place, but the camera has merely moved.
